End of Lease Nissan

The end of your lease contract can raise many questions. Fortunately, HGregoire Nissan Vimont is here to help you make the transition as easy as possible.

1.   Evaluate your options

Your needs are changing; that’s why HGregoire Nissan Vimont offers you several options when the lease of your vehicle is about to end.

·         Opt again for renting

Did you enjoy your rental experience? If so, you can opt for the lease of a new Nissan vehicle. With the Nissan Canada Finance Loyalty Program, this option is even more appealing. The section « Other important points » will inform you about this program.

·         Buy your current rental vehicle

Do you like your car and want to keep it? Consider buying it; by choosing to purchase your current vehicle, you will avoid possible excess kilometer charges or excessive wear and tear costs. You will pay only the residual value stipulated in your contract, as well as incidental expenses, if applicable (sales tax, verification of safety devices and exhaust fumes, registration fees of the vehicle, etc.). And if you need help financing your purchase, Nissan Canada Finance will be there for you, upon approval of your credit.

·         Purchase a new Nissan vehicle

Do you prefer to buy a new vehicle? No problem. With our complete line of cars and SUVs, you will find the Nissan vehicle that suits your tastes and needs. In addition, you can use your Loyalty Dollars as a customer eligible for the Nissan Canada Finance Loyalty Program.

·         Return your vehicle

You simply want to return your vehicle? HGregoire Nissan Vimont is here to simplify the process, whether you purchased the vehicle at our dealer or another location. Please contact us to book an appointment at (450) 661-6222.

2.   Make an appointment

Before the end of your contract, about six months before the deadline, you will receive the wear and tear guidebook prepared by Nissan Canada Finance. This guide contains the information you need to check if your car has normal or excessive wear, according to established standards. If in doubt, you can visit HGregoire Nissan Vimont; we can answer your questions and make the necessary repairs, if so required.

In the 30 days preceding the expiry of your lease, you will also receive a letter specifying the possible options and special offers that you can benefit from by opting for the lease or purchase of a new Nissan vehicle. Contact HGregoire Nissan Vimont to schedule an appointment and hand over your vehicle before the due date.

On D-day, your vehicle will be registered through our internal website, and a grounding receipt, signed by you and your advisor, will be sent to Nissan Canada Finance. This approach is called « grounding the vehicle ».

You may have some fees to pay; for example, if you have exceeded the number of kilometers allocated to your lease contract, or if the wear and tear of the vehicle exceeds the standards set by Nissan Canada Finance. Read the next section for more details.

3.   What you need to know about inspection

An electronic inspection of your vehicle condition will be done within 48 hours of grounding. AutoVin, an independent 3rd party company, has been mandated to perform damage assessment regarding the wear and tear of your vehicle. Their qualified inspectors are familiar with Nissan Canada Finance’s standards and procedures. Remember that you will receive the wear and tear guide, by mail, several months before this inspection; take advantage of it to make your own checks. In the event that excessive wear and tear costs are payable, Nissan Canada Finance will contact you directly.

4.   Other important points

·         Nissan Canada Finance Loyalty Program

To qualify for the Nissan Canada Finance Loyalty Program, you must currently lease or finance a Nissan vehicle through Nissan Canada Finance, or own a 2009 Nissan vehicle or newer. Members of your immediate family residing at the same address and holding a valid driver’s license are also eligible.

·         Security deposit

Within 15 business days, as soon as we receive a return confirmation of your vehicle or funds certified for the purchase of it, you will get a refund of your security deposit.

·         Last payment

Normally, you should make your last payment 30 days before the end of your lease. Contact Nissan Canada Finance Customer Service department at 1-800-268-6499 to confirm the date of your payment if you have made any changes, or to proceed with the payment if you have received a lease-end liability statement.

·         Penalties

At the end of the lease contract, it may be possible to extend your rental. However, if you wish to return your vehicle or make a purchase before the due date, a penalty may apply. Ask HGregoire Nissan Vimont at (450) 661-6222 or our Remarketing department at 1-800-268-6499.
